A popular choice in home building today is steel balustrading. Mild steel offers durability, strength and with the 40*12 mm solid steel horizontals and vertical bars the Horizon allows for spans that keep the openness that is prerequisite with this type of balustrading.

The lateral strength achieved with Horizon’s design means that many balustrades can offer a continuous handhold will not require newel posts. The rectangular baluster also offer the eye an ever changing perspective and the structure of each section of balustrading are clearly show.

For this application the steel can be finished in black etch or powder coated. The Horizon Balustrading is versatile and can be configured in a number of combinations of vertical balusters with the horizontal sections. The balustrading is also versatile with regards to the handrail and can be configured with both square and moulded handrails. In this case the handrail (EX 75 * 38) is square and is manufactured from a warm, rich Australian hardwood, Victorian Ash with the sharp edges removed. Using Australian hardwood gives the balustrading durability and strength.

The Horizon balustrade complements the design of this staircase perfectly, and here is working with a closed stair with closed stringers and stacked bullnoses steps.
