Not often seen, this library staircase is a closed spiral with closed strings. The complexity and uniqueness of this staircase was created by the owner’s requirement that both the top and undersides of the staircase were to be seen. This meant that all the treads and risers had to be individually fitted into both the outer curved string and the inner newel post.  The balustrade is timber with a turned (ex 50*50mm) baluster. The handrail (ex 80*60mm HR01) commences with a turned newel post.
