The balustrade is timber with a square (ex 50*50mm) baluster. The handrail (ex 75*50mm HR01) commences with a wreathing scroll over a feature chamfered scroll newel and two feature bullnose steps. The handrail is hand carved and is wreathing and continuous at the changes in pitch. This closed staircase has traditional cut strings on the inside while the outer stringer is closed.
