The balustrade is made of vertical stainless steel wire that is fixed at one end to custom made stainless steel uprights and horizontals on the first floor, while the other end is fixed to the treads. The handrail is timber and is ex 50mm diameter. This staircase is open with modern cut stringers and commences with a cantilevered landing. The treads also cantilever from a concealed steel stringer.
