This large curved staircase is the feature of this foyer. The staircase is unique because of many changes in pitch and direction, this design constraint makes the line of the strings at the transition points a key consideration. The base of the staircase has been flared to open the entry point. The stair commences with a bullnose step that has been shaped to allow for the installation of a scroll. The bullnose has been crafted into a curved foot to the floor. The strings have been cut to the profile of the treads and risers. Non slip profiles have been fixed over the nosing. The balustrade uses timber handrail with 16*16mm square steel balusters with a feature baluster every third.
