This U shaped staircase is the feature of the entry. The strings are closed and at the change in pitch at the landing the string has been cranked. The weight of the glass has been carefully considered in the design and the installation of this staircase. The widths of the flights have been adjusted to allow finger room. The treads have a round nosing and have been covered in carpet. The clear toughened glass is side mounted to the strings and first floor fascia using patch fittings.
