Specifications

This curved staircase is the feature of this home. The staircase is unique because of the many changes in pitch and direction and this design constraint makes the line of the strings at the transition points a key consideration. The base of the staircase has been flared to open the entry point. The stair commences with two bullnose steps that have been shaped to allow of the installation of a scroll over number one bullnose. The bullnoses have been crafted into a curved foot to the floor. The inner string is cut to the profile of the treads and risers while the outer string is closed. The balustrade is constructed using an individually designed custom round steel feature baluster
