Both sides of this staircase are curved with the bottom section being much wider than the main section of the stair. The stair has a number of changes in pitch. The staircase commences with a bullnose step that has been shaped to allow it to be crafted into a foot to the floor. The inner and outer strings have been cut to the profile of the treads and risers but in this case margin pieces have been used to allow the carpet to finish neatly. At the top of the flight the inner string curves and ramps into a deep fascia. The balustrade is timber with a square chamfered (ex 50*50mm) baluster.
