For obvious reasons this extraordinary structure is called a ‘cantilevered’ staircase. Its floating appearance seems to defy gravity which is of course its major appeal. The stainless steel wire balustrade simply adds to the minimalism of the form and creates an eye-catching semi transparent wall.

Features on this staircase include open modern cut stringers and a cantilevered landing. The treads also cantilever from a concealed steel stringer. Each tread is cut at a different length to form a double curve. The treads are boxed and are fixed over steel arms. The steel stringer has been concealed by cupboards under the stair. The balustrade is made of vertical stainless steel wire.
