This feature staircase is open with 65mm thick closed strings that crank to support the landing. To lock the cranked strings in position they have been fixed into a joist on the back wall. The treads are ex 300*50mm as are the landing boards and in this case mitered margins have been used for the carpet to neatly fit into. The lengths and space between the top and bottom flights have been off set to allow for finger room.
